From November 9 to 20, we will be making improvements to the waiting facilities at the bus station. This follows a complete resurfacing of the bus area earlier in the year.
To keep passengers safe, and allow space for the contractors to work, buses will not be able to use the bus station to pick up or set down passengers during this time. Instead, they will use their normal stops on Gladstone Road (service 44P to Pewsham Estate will also start from Gladstone Road during the closure).
The bus stops on Gladstone Road will be busier than usual, so you may prefer to use the stops on Bath Road or The Bridge (Rivo Lounge).
We will be installing a new, larger, more enclosed shelter to our latest design. It has low power LED lighting, benches with handrails to help the less mobile, and is in a sleek, long lasting, anodised metal construction. There will also be changes to make more space for passengers to circulate.
We are also installing a power supply for live information screens which will follow shortly. You will then be able to track your bus in real time.
These improvements are funded by UK Government.
Complimenting these works, our partners at Chippenham Town Council have recently replaced the bus station toilet, which is now free to use.
